Pumpkin Spice cheerios, fluffy mini marshmallows, and rich, sweet dark chocolate chips make for the perfect snack mix to embrace the fall season!
Did you know Pumpkin Spice Cheerios even existed? I didn’t… until Publix had a BOGO deal and I saw the ad on the app! I’m not typically a big cereal eater but I was intrigued to try these because you know, all things Pumpkin Spice in the fall, right?
What I really like about these Cheerios is that you actually don’t get that sweet pumpkin taste. I’ll be honest, I was hesitant about that. The stand out flavors here are the cinnamon, nutmeg and clove and the cereal is actually really yummy! I wanted to make the Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Snack Mix simply as a fun fall-themed after school snack when Addelyn is SOOOOO HUNGRYYY and must eat approximately every 23 minutes. And where there is marshmallow and chocolate, my daughter will be FIRST in line.
She actually argued about not wanting to eat the Cheerios when I first said they were “Pumpkin Spice.” I quickly re-named them “Cinnamon” and refused to let her eat the marshmallows without trying at least one “Cinnamon Cheerio.” Guess who ate a whole snack bag full?!
And guess who was happy to have her child eat healthy cereal rather than yet another bag of fruit snacks? Me! (Yes, I know there’s marshmallows, and there’s still sugar in this snack mix. But balance is key — Cheerios have healthy grains and dark chocolate is good for you, so whatever!)
So, make yourself a batch of this snack mix (or double/triple/quadruple it!), divide it into baggies or containers and leave them in your pantry for the perfect, easy after-school snack for your kiddos! And of course, keep some for yourself for that afternoon slump pick-me-up!
What else can I do with Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Snack Mix?
- Halloween Goody Bags! Buy some fun Halloween goody bags, fill them up with a few scoops of the snack mix, and close them with a cute Halloween sticker! These are perfect for a kid’s school party, or as favors if you’re having a halloween party at your house!
- Halloween Movie Night Snack Bowl! Add some caramel corn for the perfect popcorn and candy movie snack!
- Pumpkin Patch Snacks! If you’re team candy corn – mix of some of the original or pumpkin shaped ones into the mix and you’ll have a fun snack … to use as a bribe when you want to get all those cutesy photos and the kids want no part of it … you’re welcome.
- Trail Mix! Add some dried cranberries and candied (or regular) pecans. Can it now technically be called trail mix and sound even healthier? 😬
