About Me

Hi! I’m Anna and I’m the busy bee behind Moments and Meals. I became fascinated with the concept of cooking back in high school when Food Network quickly became my favorite channel. In college, I began to teach myself to cook, inspired by the many, many food magazines I purchased (seriously, I had several 3″ binders filled with recipes in plastic sheet protectors … divider tabs included… don’t judge me.) Over the years, I fell in love with cooking. I get excited trying new foods and flavors. And I revel in the idea of creating memories around meals shared with family and friends. Wether it’s weeknight dinners with my husband and daughter, potlucks with friends, or holiday feasts with extended family, sharing food makes my heart happy. I hope I can pass some of my excitement and love of food and cooking onto you through this blog!

But the struggle with cooking is time. Work. Family. Home. I’ve found that meal planning (planning, not prepping.. I can’t get myself to do all that) helps me get dinner on the table just a little faster each night. I tend to over analyze just a tad and spend a decent amount of time each week meal planning. I try to keep dinners interesting, but simple. I try to be healthy-ish. I don’t make every item from scratch because I ain’t got the time and I know many of you don’t either. My hope is that the meal planning pages help you get out of the “what should we eat” rut and make it easier for you to get dinner on the table for your family each week.

Me Addelyn and Joey smiling

As for my family, I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Joey. A sweet and stubborn sports fanatic, who can always put a smile on my face and make me laugh. I’m a mom to an adorable & clever little girl named Addelyn, who hates to sleep, loves to give hugs and is sometimes too wise for her years. I also have two fur-babies. Snickers, an anti-social calico we adopted back in our college days, and Riley, a rescue that stole our hearts with his big ears and playful nature. I love my family fiercely and take an insane amount of pictures to document the small moments that make life so beautiful.
